Armed Suspect Sparks Riverside County Chase, Barricades at Key Intersection

Riverside County deputies pursued a driver through the Inland Empire on April 8, 2026. The chase started near Temecula after a traffic code violation, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office told Filmogaz.com.

Pursuit and standoff in Jurupa Valley

The vehicle traveled into Jurupa Valley and stopped at Bellegrave Avenue and Etiwanda. That location is near Jurupa Valley High School.

The driver refused to exit the white Cadillac CT5. Dozens of deputies from Riverside and San Bernardino counties responded.

Scene observations

Aerial footage showed more than a dozen patrol cars at the scene. Deputies were seen with firearms drawn behind the vehicles.

SkyCal footage appeared to show the driver holding an object in his left hand. At one point, the driver called 911 and said he was armed.

Grappler deployment and crash

At about 3:20 p.m., the driver fled again. An RSO patrol vehicle deployed its pursuit-ending Grappler tool.

The Grappler first failed to stop the car. Seconds later the tool appeared to cause the driver to lose control.

The Cadillac struck a brick wall outside a home on Bellegrave Avenue. The deputy’s vehicle also lost control, but it did not crash.

A SWAT vehicle arrived and positioned behind the crashed car. Aerial footage showed severe front-end damage to the suspect’s vehicle.
